Lots of Increased Outdoor Recreation Coming to Tahoe
INCREASED SUMMER ACTIVITIES COMING TO TAHOE COURTESY OF VAIL
South Lake Tahoe’s summer recreation lovers will be delighted to hear that Vail Resorts’ have plans underway to expand the variety of outdoor activities being offered at their Heavenly & Northstar Resorts. If all goes well, these additions could really add to the draw of summer visitors. Among the plans are inclusions of zip lines, rope courses, summer tubing, expanded trails for hiking and biking. Oh, there’s more planned – how about interpretive centers, a “Forest Flyer” which is an alpine slide that “winds through the forest on raised rails much like a roller coaster.” If these plans actually come to fruition, Tahoe most certainly will climb another notch in world-wide travel destinations.
According to an article posted with the Tahoe Daily Tribune today, April 2nd, Bill Cottrill, director of sales and marketing for Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel stated “Heavenly is very important for South Lake Tahoe businesses; their investment is critical to the overall success of the area.” He went on to say, “We have millions of people within a three- to five-hour drive, and having those extra activities creates additional excitement and buzz, which in turn earns more visitors.
