North Lake Tahoe straddles California's eastern and
Nevada's western state line. It is located in the Sierra
Nevada mountain range, and is 200 miles northeast of San
Francisco, 98 miles northeast of Sacramento, Calif., and
45 miles southwest of Reno, Nevada.

North Lake Tahoe, California Real Estate Areas
Homewood/Sunnyside – Located on the North West shore of
Lake Tahoe, this area is known for its “Old Tahoe” charm. Classic
cabins to newer homes are found in the heavily forested neighborhoods. There is
also a local ski resort popular among families and beginning skiers.
Tahoe City – Certainly not a city by any means,
it is popular for its restaurants, marina and shopping. Many full time residents
choose to live here with close proximity to the schools and world-class ski resorts.
Squaw Valley – Site of past winter Olympics, this area
offers great skiing and golf. Primarily a vacation and second home destinations,
properties range from partial ownership, condos and single-family residences.
Alpine Meadows – Many North Shore residents call this
their favorite ski area. Mountain style condos and homes grace the hillside.
Approximately 7,000 local residents call Alpine Meadows home.
Kingwood – Located off of Highway 267, this small
community is experiencing one of the fast growing populations around the lake.
Tahoe Vista – This area has recently undergone resurgence
in growth with both new homes and commercial development.
Kings Beach – One of Lake Tahoe’s oldest
communities, this area is currently undergoing improvements to the downtown and

Cedar Flat – Classically woodsy with surrounding
“Old Tahoe” cabins. There are homeowner beach and pier rights.
Carnelian Bay/Carnelian Heights – many consider this area
to be the “soul” of North Tahoe. The style of homes ranges from woodsy
to contemporary and offers many outstanding lake views.
Brockway Summit – Located within a few short minutes
from North Shore, Nevada casinos, this area offers breathtaking lake views and
one of the area’s most popular beaches.
Meeks Bay/Glenridge – This area is filled with many
lake view homes surrounded by open space. White sandy beaches and scenic boating
make this area a favorite summer destination.
Tahoma – Located on the West shore, this area offers
more of the least expensive homes. Level streets adjoin the Sugar Pine Park.
The Waters Edge condo development includes beach and pier rights.
Rubicon/McKinney – Known for its wide, flat and easily
accessible streets, this area is popular with folks looking to avoid winter
driving obstacles.
Chambers Landing – Another area popular for vacation goers.
This area offers a lakeside swimming pool, beach, pier and picnic area.
Alpine Peaks/Ward Creek – Views are key here. From forested
land, to snowcapped peaks to mountain meadows, many of these homes are within a hop to
the backside access of the Alpine Meadow ski resort.
Pineland/Timberland – One of the quieter areas, this community
is very forested and provides easy access to the highway and Tahoe City.
Talmont/Tahoe Park Heights – Miles of trails provide year
round hiking, biking and skiing as well as those famous views of Lake Tahoe’s beauty.
The Tahoe park beach and picnic areas are close to the popular Sunnyside Resort.

Truckee, Tahoe, Donner - California
Truckee – This area is growing quickly in popularity and offers
year round seasonal recreation with neighboring streams, rivers and lakes.
Tahoe Donner – This popular area is located at the top of
Northwoods Blvd and is made up primarily of second home ownership.
Donner Lake – Most homes in this area are within walking
distance to the lake. Families especially enjoy the activities designed for all ages.
Donner Summit - A popular resort destination for Sugar Bowl, and
world-class Royal Gorge, this easily accessible yet high elevation offers remote cabins
and acreage, and 4 season opportunities at Serene Lakes.
Downtown Truckee – is the historic heart of the community
and is made up of older residences, unique shopping and railroad history.
Gateway / Meadow Park / Donner Trail – Located in the
south central area of Truckee, this area takes up approximately two square miles.
Located across the Truckee River off of Highway 267, property owners and homeowners
are close to the airport and Northstar.
Armstrong Tract – Comprise of mostly primary residents,
this area is located across from the Tahoe-Truckee factory Stores off Donner Pass Road.
This is one of the most affordable neighborhoods in the area.
Prosser Lakeview Estates - This quiet area is adjacent to the
Alder Creek entrance to Tahoe Donner with plenty of trees and lots of snow.
Northstar – This area consists of 1,296 privately owned properties
including homes, condos and lots. All owners, regardless of property type, become members
of the property owners association and pay approx. $700 per year for Swim, Fitness and
Racquet Club privileges.
Pine Forest – One of the newest communities in the area, it is
located off of Highway 89 North, just minutes from highway 80 and downtown Truckee.
Glenshire/Devonshire – This community is located about 6 miles
from Truckee and 28 miles from Keystone Ave. in Reno. Glenshire/Devonshire consists of
a series of subdivisions comprising about 1,500 housing units on about three square
miles located at the eastern boundary of Truckee.
Olympic Heights – This area offers a unique advantage in
a region with long winters - lots of sun. Located on the southern facing hill off
Glenshire Drive between Glenshire and Truckee.

Incline Village – Home of the “rich and famous,”
as well as a few long time residents. Within 30 minutes to Reno, this area
offers breath taking lake views, champion golf courses and beautiful beaches.
